Hi, I’m Jessica Ruiz — but you can call me Jess!

I’m a photographer, educator, and a Jesus lover based in Orange County, California. I earned my Master’s degree in Multimedia, Photography, and Design from Syracuse University in 2021, but my photography journey began right here in Orange County back in 2013.

Since 2022, I’ve had the honor of teaching Introduction to Photography at Fullerton College — the place where my own love for photography first began. Even as the instructor, I find myself learning something new from my students every semester.

I’m also the girl who always has a camera nearby at every function, a coffee riding shotgun in my F-150, and a “self-love” trip already in the works. If I’m not bumping 90s–2000s R&B on my way to our session, I’m praying the Rosary — there’s truly no in-between. Oh, and I’m a runner — the type who’s only truly motivated if I’ve already dropped the $$ on my next big race. And this year has felt extra special because I get to plan my own 2026 wedding. I can’t wait to be a wifey and join that club with all my future and past brides!!!

One of the best compliments I’ve ever received was, “Wow, that was easy. You made us feel comfortable!” I credit that to my background in journalism, where connecting quickly and deeply with people is everything.
